Subject: What do your customers want, [firstname]?

Hey [firstname]!

If I could sum up how to be successful in business (any business, not just online) in a single sentence it would be: Find out what your customers want and then sell it to them.

It sounds pretty simple, so why don't more people do it?

Beats me!

But seriously…

Unless you're a psychic, it can be hard to figure out what your customers want. Oftentimes the only way to find out is through trial and error. This usually works out at more error than trial. You take an educated guess at what you THINK your customers want, and either it sells or it doesn't.

That's how most most businesses do it – but you don't have to. Today I want to let you into a secret that usually only top marketers know about: Surveys.

It works like this: You send an e-mail to your list, asking them to complete a short survey. In this survey you ask them things like: What they would like to know more about, or what product/service would make their lives easier etc. You can also ask them what they would be willing to pay. Offer them a free report as an incentive and a thank-you for their time. You take this information and to either create or get the product or service that fits the bill, offer it to your customers, and turn a profit that way.

You can also survey your customers to help determine what they like (or don't like) about your products or services. You can use this information to help make your products/services better, and discover benefits that you can use to improve your ad copy.

I use SurveyMonkey [YOUR SERVEYMONKEY AFFILIATE LINK HERE] to gather this information.

In fact, you should try to get as much feedback from your customers as possible. Comments on social media (both good and bad) along with endorsements and testimonials on your website add social proof, and are likely to influence potential customers' buying decisions.

Talk soon!
